We started wearing our son since Day 1 until he was over 3 years old. Here are some of the reasons why we love it.
- Wearing your baby is convenient
Babywearing means hands free. You will not be tied up while taking care of your baby. You can use both hands to do some chores putting or baby to sleep or even breastfeeding. We do not have a car but we do not have to pay for an expensive taxi cab when we go out. We do not need to bring stroller with us. The sling is more than enough to roam around. This is actually or mobile “duyan” (hammock).

- Wearing a baby promotes physical development
Wearing your baby promotes security on the part of your baby. Since the baby is close to your heartbeat when you carry them he or she will be at peace at secure.
- Babies worn in slings are happier
Whenever my son is cranky I just put him on the sling and in less than 5 minutes he will stop crying at fall asleep. Whenever he sees his sling I can see a smile on his face which means we will go out and have some fun outside.
- Healthy for Moms
Babywearing requires a lot of patience and energy but in return you will burn calories carrying your little one. It’s hitting two birds in one stone, you are closely bonded and you are loosing few pounds

- A sense of safety and security of your child
Compare to a stroller your child only sees knees and toes. Slings provide a soothing environment for your little ones especially during a trip to the museum, malls and parks.
- Babywearing is economical
A stroller can cost you from PHP2,500 or $50 to PHP25,000 or PHP500 or even higher. While a sling can only cost PHP1,000 or $20 or even lower because you can do some DIY for simple carriers.
- Babywearing is fun
I love babywearing because I can breastfeed my son any time anywhere even while doing my grocery. I do not have to go to a breastfeeding room. It saves so much time. Plus you are a head turner
Our family can’t get enough of babywearing. I was really surprised when my son is putting Barney to sleep. And right there and then I get my giant hanky to make a sling and put Barney in it. My son happily carried Barney while singing a lullaby. This must be one of the benefits of babywearing, raising independent and secure children. See my son did not even get jealous with Barney. He knows Barney will fall asleep inside the sling just like he does. He even got out of the house with Barney inside his little sling. Moment like this puts a smile on my face.
